Pre 1: Utah Jazz vs Portland Trailblazers

Preseason Game 1
vs
96 - 100
Preseason Records:
Jazz 1-0
Trailblazers 1-1

I couldn't help but get the tickets i saw on Ebay for the first pre-season Jazz game. We have just been excited for the season to start and to get back to Jazz games. It was a good one. We've been missin those fun times during the off-season.

I hadn't seen the new Jazz court yet, so here it is. I like it and like the colors. I think its definitely better than before. I like the whole new logos and colors and court and jerseys and all that new stuff. I like them. Like like.

He's kind of a nerd sometimes. He was excited to get his Jazz gear back on and go to a game. He kept asking for all sorts of new Jazz stuff, shirts, hats, jerseys, anything. So he will have to get something for Christmas. So here's a video of the nut and then i'll get to some thoughts about the game and the Jazz.

I think he got a little distracted at the end.

Some of my thoughts:

1. Deron Williams looked sharp in this game when he was in. I like that guy and think he's a good leader of this team.
2. The starters looked good and played well. Whenever they were in the Jazz pushed the lead to double digits. They played most of the first and third quarters.
3. Fes - i don't know what to say about that guy. He did do some really good things. He got a lot of playing time tonight, i will have to give it to him, he does try hard. He got a nice block or two.. really good. He made a few good moves with the basketball (except on one of them he spun past his defender and went right to the open hoop then got rejected by the rim). Still i think i'd rather have a big man who will try hard and will play physical like he does. Hopefully he can just get his game better so he will be more productive. His free-throw shooting is horrible, and his finishing at the rim could be much better.. but he does seem to be improving on other parts of his game.
4. Wesley Matthews... it sucked to see him in a Blazers uniform.
5. The Bench gave up leads whenever they came in the game. Once the game was all tied up though, they would keep it close. The game was tied with about 4 minutes to go and they did keep it together and made plays to put the game away. Gaines was good in those final minutes. I've always liked him and hope he can keep getting better.

Overall i thought the Jazz looked pretty good. It was nice to get to see some of Hayward, Evans, and Watson also. Once i see more of the team i'll get more of an idea what i think, but so far... should be a good season.
