So here it is:
1. John Stockton - the best point-guard ever to play. Everything good about a basketball player, John Stockton has
2. Reggie Miller - made shots nobody should ever make.
3. Ray Allen - for some reason i like him, and it seems like when he is on, nobody can stop him.
4. Karl Malone - good, hard playing guy. You knew what you'd get from him pretty much every game.
5. Larry Bird - I never really saw him play, i was too young, but i like watching video of him.
6. David Robinson - he was always one of my favorites.
7. Dwight Howard - Most dominating big man in the league.
8. Jason Kidd - he's good. He has now gone over 11,000 assists in his career. He's #2 behind Stockton. He won't ever get close to Stockton in assists, but at #2, still impressive.
9. Michael Jordan - i don't really like him. But i don't hate him... and he was really good so he makes the list. I just can't leave him off the list.
10. Kevin Durant -New addition to this list. There are a bunch of players who might go here and many i am leaving off. Durant is really good and is so young.
Like i said, creating a top 10 all-time is hard, especially when i factor in my own bias and opinions of players. So i know tons of great players are not on this list, thats just how it is. Some players were just too much before my time, so i know they would probably be on this list, but since i didn't see them play its just hard for me to have too much of an opinion on them.
So... i think i'll create an honorable mention list below of players who are right there in the mix. Some of them may end up in my top 10 at some point. Depending on my mood, i could change some of them in right now. They are in no particular order.
Deron Williams - Used to be in my top 10. As you know if you read my crap, he has just lost a lot of my respect and esteem in recent times. I still think he's up there as a player, but most likely will never make it back up to the top 10. He's still got a lot of his career left. As of now tho he's just kind of ruined for me.
Derrick Rose - I thought he was good before this year, but his play this year has just shot him up my list. Now with some good players around him, he is really doing some damage out there. Who would have thunk it but the Bulls really could be a big contender for the title this year (2011).
Blake Griffin - Holy crap, thats all i can say. He is just a rookie but he's pretty much making everyone look bad out there. I've not seen anything like this guy, ever. Now if his team can just start winning games... he could be huge.
More to come, thats just all i have time to do right now, but this honorable mention list will probably be fairly big. I would just do like a top 50 all time, but i don't really want to try to decide each position players go and who is better than who all the way up to 50.. so i'll just cram all the players above number 10 here and do with them what you like.
