Jazz thoughts 2 in the PM

I'm just sitting here wondering today if playoff seed in the West really matters all that much. I mean, looking at the 2-8 spots... only 3 games separate the 2 seed and the 8 seed. So usually you'd think when playoffs come along if you are the 2 seed then your opponent, the 7 seed, should definitely be the underdog and most of the time you are expected to win. The 2-8 is so jumbled and close, that I don't really know if any of those teams really has alot of advantage over the others. All are playing decent and any could move to the 2nd round.

I guess getting home court advantage really seems to be a bigger reason for getting a higher seed. Getting homecourt in the 1st and possibly 2nd round really seem to be what the Jazz are fighting for now. Still who knows who they will even play in the first round. Conceivably it could be any of the other 7 West playoff teams.

So i don't know really. Like i've said it just matters how the Jazz are playing come playoffs. They only have 3 games left to get some momentum and get ready for what looks to probably be a tough first round matchup. Also, though the Lakers are for sure going to get that #1 spot, they are not playing any better than most of the West playoff teams in the past couple months. The gap between them and the other teams has actually been getting smaller, not bigger. Anyone can come out on top in the West. Even the Lakers don't have much of an advantage. They will have homecourt against anyone in the West... but i'll be interested to see who gets the Lakers in the first round.

So what the heck? What is the West going to look like a week from now?
