Game 17: Utah Jazz vs LA Lakers

vs
102 - 96
Season Record: 12-5
Season Series vs Lakers: Jazz lead 1-0

Its a win against the Lakers. I don't care how it happens as long as its a win. This was a great victory for the Jazz. They take the first meeting with the Lakers this year. Not that the pre-season matters all that much, but they took the 2 games in pre-season too, so have now won the last 3 games if you count those. They don't really matter and you can't really count the pre-season wins except for Jazz fans to think maybe this team has a chance against the Lakers. Maybe they can play against them and not get knocked out of the playoffs again. This is a big MAYBE. After one game, its hard to say, but at least the Jazz got this first win. Thats a big start. The Jazz lost the first quarter, but won the second, third, and fourth.

Game Recap:
1st quarter: Same old crappy crap Jazz start. Lakers took off with a big lead and led by 16 at the end of the quarter.

2nd quarter: Jazz are down by 19 early in the quarter. The Jazz bench does what the bench does. They came into the game and just went at the Lakers and played their butts off. They just made plays. Near the end of the half the Jazz actually took the lead over the Lakers. A late quarter run put the Lakers back on top by 4 at the end of the half.

3rd quarter: After that jump start by the bench, the Jazz kept going and playing well. They ended the quarter with a 3 point lead on the Lakers.

4th quarter: The game stayed close with the Jazz keeping a small lead til the middle of the 4th. Kobe took over. He hit 3 three-pointers, another 2 point shot, then hit 3 free throws after being fouled on a three point attempt. It looked like the game would be over after Kobe did the thing that he does. There was just over 2 minutes left and the Lakers led by 5. The Jazz were still in in tho because Deron was distributing and hitting shots as well. The Jazz held the Lakers and Deron tied the game with a 3 with about a minute left. Jazz steal, Raja layup and Jazz lead by 2. Lakers miss shots, Jazz make free throws. Jazz win. Kobe took over the game during the 4th period, but so did Deron, and he came out on top.

I really love this Jazz team. They have their struggles, but they are never out of any game. They will always fight, and so far have found a lot of success with that fight so far this season.

Jazz Player of the Game: Deron Williams
29 points, 12 assists.
Deron kept the Jazz from losing this game at the end in the 4th. The Lakers and Kobe did what they usually do to the Jazz and looked like they would pull it out at the end against the Jazz. This time Deron stepped up for the Jazz big time. Maybe Deron is finally ready and able to keep the Lakers down and finally beat them.

Ronnie Price. He has always been one who will go hard at the Lakers. We know he's not afraid of them. By the looks of it, maybe the rest of the Jazz have lost their fear as well. I seriously love this guy, he is so explosive.

I had to put a game recap on for this one. I love a good Jazz win over them Lakers.

Next meeting vs Lakers: Jan 25 in LA
