Game 1: Utah Jazz at Denver Nuggets

vs
88 - 110
Season Record: 0-1

After such a successful pre-season, the Jazz looked more like an 0-8 pre-season team in their first regular season game against the Nuggets. I guess the 82-0 season is now out of the question.

I guess the pre-season kind of gave us a little bit of an unrealistic expectation of the Jazz. They did great in the pre-season, but really with so many new players on the team i think they'll need some fine tuning to get to the well-oiled machine we expect of our Jazz teams. An 8-0 pre-season does not mean a 60 or 70 win season. We can hope, but pre-season is just pre-season. Its just all i had to be excited for. Now lets get some regular season wins. The ones that count. Still, i can't remember the last time the Jazz had a worse season opening game.

The Jazz got off to a bad start and never really changed things. The Nuggets went up 9-0 to start the game... led by 9 at the end of 1 quarter. Led by 20 at the half. This really was a let down for me that the Jazz came out with nothing going for them in really any part of the game. They shot horribly, turned the ball over a lot, didn't defend well. This is the kind of game that just happens from time to time, so hopefully they can bounce back and just have a great game against the Suns at home on a back to back.

There wasn't much good to speak of during this game. Not a whole lot else for me to say. Lots of bad, but if the Jazz put that behind them and change things it won't really mean anything. The season is 82 games and every team has a bad outing. Hopefully the Jazz have just got their worst out of the way early.

Jazz Player of the Game: Jeremy Evans.
Evans was the only Jazz player to not turn the ball over. Every other Jazz man had at least one turnover and that was one of the biggest reasons the Jazz were so bad in this game. Even talking about things other than turnovers, Evans did a really good job for a rookie. I believe he had 11 pts and 2 reb. He played 11 minutes.

Season series: Nuggets lead 1-0

I didn't agree with some of the lineups Jerry had out there. He played the five best players together then the next five worst together. I hope he gets a better rotation going.

Yeah, i was listening to it and was a bit confused by some of the lineups in the game. Now they're 0-2, i hope they can get some things figured out quick.
