Game 31: Utah Jazz vs Portland Trailblazers

vs
91 - 96
Season Record: 21-10

It was a big Day for Okur and Matthews. It was Okur's first game in Salt Lake back from his injury last year. He is playing.. pretty well. He is not making really big impacts on the game, but is not playing tons of minutes yet and seems to be just figuring out things again after being out so long. It was Matthews first regular season game back here in Salt Lake since being picked up by Portland.

The Jazz did what they needed to do to win but just didn't play very well in the second half and mostly the 4th quarter.

Its just weird to me, with the trades and new players on the team this year it seemed like the Jazz figured out things without Memo. They seemed to be having things go pretty good without him. I like Memo and i think he is a good player, its just that with the new players coming in and others stepping up, i just don't know where Memo fits in real well. Not saying that i don't think he can fit in well and contribute and help the team... just that its not quite so clear to me where he will fit and what he will do for the team. Its like he was out so long that for me, i just sort of moved on. Anyone else feeling a little weird with Memo's return? Should he be a starter? Should he come off the bench? Who does replace in the starting lineup for if he does start?
I just don't know what the best mix is for this team and how the pieces should fit together with the players they have. They have potential and will be a force in the West (they always are) but can they be the best? I say maybe.

Season Series vs Portland: 1-1
